For the past nine years, more than a million fans around the CSRA have embraced the Augusta Lynx by attending hockey games at the James Brown Arena... and for the past nine years, the Augusta Lynx have helped to raise more than $1 million for area charities and community groups. That tradition continues in 2008-09 season and strives to continue making a positive impact on the Augusta-Aiken Metro area.

The Lynx welcome any interested parties to participate in our Community Outreach Programs. Our main objective and responsibility is to get the professional athlete out into the community as a positive role model. The Augusta Lynx Community Outreach Program is designed to help enrich our local environment by offering personal appearances by Augusta Lynx professional athletes, the Lady Lynx Dance Team, and front office personnel. Local business groups, charitable foundations, medical facilities, unions, schools, and all organized functions are asked to take advantage of this Outreach program by scheduling speaking engagements, visits, and hockey clinics.

The Lynx also offer donations such as tickets, autographed memorabilia and merchandise to community organizations for fundraising. So how can you help the Augusta Lynx help your cause? Requests for donations and/or player appearances may be sent by FAX to the Lynx Community Relations Department at 706-724-2423, or by email to our Community Relations Manager Holly Giamfortone at hgiamfortone@augustalynx.com. Requests for appearances by "Louie the Lynx" and the Stokes-Hodges Lynx Avalanche vehicle can also be made. It is the Lynx objective to fulfill all requests based on scheduling availability. For more information on the Lynx Outreach Program please contact the Lynx Public Relations Department at 706-724-4423.

The Augusta Ice Hockey Association is affiliated with USA Hockey, the national governing body for ice hockey in the United states. The AIHA will encompass youth house league, youth travel teams and adult league hockey. These programs will skate at the Augusta Ice Sports Center.
